A search committee of community leaders, parents, and business leaders should be convened to look nationwide for an innovative, visionary superintendent, and that search process must be open and transparent. It is important that the new Superintendent has the enthusiastic backing of our community and our parents, and that we hire an individual whom the business community will rally around in their support of Orange County’s public schools.
Term Limits

Chief Operating Officer
Orange County Public Schools is a $1.66 billion dollar operation with 21,926 employees, 14,786 teachers and 170,035 students. The Superintendent, typically an educator without a business background, is charged with the day to day operations of this massive system. The new Superintendent should hire a Chief Operating Officer with a business and education background to handle the business operations of the District such as transportation, supplies, construction and procurement, thereby freeing the Superintendent to focus on the education of Orange County’s children.
